I love the day after Christmas – everything I don’t need is on sale and there are always fun surprises sprinkled along the way…

Aside from finding the ridiculously adorable Batman and Superman graphic toddler tees marked down to only $7.99 at the GAP (GASP! I bought several and probably would have even if I didn’t have a little nugget of my own), I also discovered that Thakoon’s Collection for Target went on sale today, ever though it isn’t supposed to go live until 12.28.08.

I’ve wanted to own a piece designed by Thakoon ever since I interviewed the designer back in 2006, but unfortunately his namesake line is a little too rich for my blood. Now, I was very excited when I first heard that he was designing pieces for the GAP as part of the CFDA White Tee Project (or whatever it was called) a year or two ago, but after trying on every single style in the collection, I left the store empty handed and practically depressed (everything was cut extra large).

Thakoon for Target was created with the idea of mixing prints (something I am a huge fan of) and every piece looks pretty easy to wear and supposedly runs fairly true-to-size. That being said, I’ve already ordered the dress show here (Thakoon for Target Shibori Woven Dress, $39.99) and am eagerly awaiting its arrival. How cute will this look when worn with chic shagreen belt or some cute yellow or red flats?! So excited!!

This collection got a fair amount of buzz, so if you want anything, I suggest you order now.
