a collection called krakoff
The above quote from A Tribe Called Quest and Reed Krakoff‘s Fall 2010 collection are certainly two of the best things I’ve recently come across. In fact, today in the office (amidst the chaos that is fashion week planning), I mused that Reed Krakoff is the new Tom Ford.
Years ago, if you had asked me which designer collections I’d want to live in forever, I would have probably told you, “Prada, Stella McCartney, Jil Sander, Bottega Veneta, or maybe Calvin Klein.” If Reed Krakoff keeps turning out amazing collections like his current one (which also happens to be his very first under his own namesake – he was previously the creative head at Coach), he will undoubtedly end up entering that list.
I’m particularly taken with the Boxer Bag, which comes in so many beautiful skins and colorways that I’d have a hard time choosing just one. His boots are also positively divine and so is that T-Bar Ring pictured at the top of this post (which would make a good substitute for the Tiffany ring I recently lost while on vacay AND my signature Baccarat ring that I somehow destroyed simply by clapping at a Yankees game). I might even give up my beautiful Oliver (who just started kindergarten today) for a few pieces of Reed… just kidding.
