The traditional tank is bra-friendly, hits right below for pelvis, and comes in a just-sheer-enough cotton blend, which I love love love. The racerback tank features thinner straps, super-tiny ribbed opaque cotton, and is super flattering to the upper body (instant swimmer’s body, anyone?) and has a rough, scooped hem reminiscent of those from Rick Owens. Each styles comes in basic black, white and gray – and I want at least one of each. Apparently they are only available in select Bloomingdales so look for them when you’re in-store next. I highly recommend.

Oh, and who is Leslie Fremar? She’s a maje celeb stylist who landed in the #2 spot on the Hollywood Report’s list this year. Her clients include Charlize Theron, Julianne Moore, Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson… you know, girls like you and I.

I’m fairly ride or die when it comes to heels – especially printed, patterned, and graphic pumps. Of what I currently own, my faves are printed Prada and Roger Vivier, but I’m dying to go a bit more sexy this season with Gucci’s zebra hair calf d’Orsday pumps. Black and white (another huge weakness of mine), these babies will be worn with everything from colored jeans to floral print dresses a la the campaign shot, which is currently plastered on my inspiration wall at the office. $695 isn’t free though…what’s a girl to do?

The moment this Prada collection hit the runway, I died in that Rachel Zoe sort of way. Haven’t decided quite which piece to splurge on yet, but I’m really in love with the more crazy sandals. Hot rod inspired heels? Could you think of a better way to inspire faster healing in my damn knee?

I’m going to a couple of parties this year and was told I needed to ‘slut it up’ a bit more than usual. Well, slutty nurse, slutty kitten, slutty bumble bee, etc. aren’t really my thing (in years past, I’ve been a zombie, jellyfish, elf, and part of a haunted forest), so I tried to think of other costumes that would make my friends happy (ie at least show my legs) without looking like a ho. And so I’m going as a flower, inspired by the Christian Dior Fall 2010 Couture collection and frilly pink peonies (my faves). I’ll be layering pink tutus, wearing leafy Valentino sandals that I’ve had for over 10 years but only worn 5 or 6 times, and plan on having too much fun with my hair (def incorporating cellophane) and wild makeup with falsies too! What will you be dressing up as?

A gift to myself for finally buying something to go on the wall behind our couch (an atypical Marimekko print): Proenza Schouler tasseled sandals. They are all black (which I needed), have a sexy arch and stacked heel, are really comfortable, and were on a sick sale at Barneys (yay!). I love them and plan on wearing them until they look as tired as all of the rest of my poor heels.

Thought this was a nice follow-up to my silver skirt post. Bought this bracelet over a year ago at a Made Her Think sample sale for just $20. I’ve had to fix it twice, but it has been easy to do both times and well worth it. Jewelry sample sales are ALWAYS worth a go.

Also, I finally got a new iPhone this weekend and am completely in love with it. My new favorite apps are: Hootsuite (for my social media needs), Instagram (old school treatments for your pics), Cut the Rope (for those who love Angry Bird type games), ScanBizCards (where you take a picture of business cards and the information is automatically put into your contacts (life changing!)), and MTV’s Music Meter for discovering new artists. I’m also just loving the fact that I can finally enjoy facetime with others and take decent pictures like the ones above. I also have a new HP TouchPad on its way to me so I’ll be sure to let you know how that is – looks amazing!

While in Jamaica, I finally wore my silver Michael Kors skirt (bought on Gilt, fyi). Light as a feather, the fabric shines even at night. Unfortunately, I haven’t found the perfect top to wear with it and I also need it taken in just a bit to sit higher at my natural waist. I spent Memorial Day weekend with a fantastic group of people in Kingston for StyleWeek Jamaica. Invited by Kelly Millions (one of my favorite people on the New York fashion scene), I joined Michael for FAAG, Jayda Audrick (Stylist & Editor at Black Enterprise), writer Kristopher Arden Houser, Claire Sulmers of Fashion Bomb Daily, travel writer Yesenia Huezo, Elaine Welteroth (Beauty & Style Editor for Ebony), designers LaQuan Smith, Indashio, and Mataano designers Ayaan & Idyl Mohallim.

We spend five nights and four days in Kingston and did everything from watching fashion shows to eating lobsters on the beach and hanging out with Jamaican rapper Bounty Killa in a club that Shaggy’s publicist brought us to. Celine is having such a moment. With Phoebe Philo at the helm of the fashion house, it is once again setting the bar for what is sophisticated, but also cool. I’d die for the black-lined camel coat above (left), that sweet jumpsuit (although I feel I’d never end up wearing it), and the luxe croc shopper.

Oh Stella McCartney, you kill me every time. And if her pre-fall collection is any indication of a big fall trend (and it usually is), we’ll be seeing oversized, Yohji Yamamoto-esque outerwear at the upcoming Fall 2011 shows (yay!). Stella is always so good, so 30s, so chic, comfortable and confident. I’d take it all.

Burberry Prorsum does outerwear like nobody’s business. The blue fur coat seen above on the right is so, so gorgeous. And so is the black and yellow, black and yellow printed one. And the moss one, even though the fur shoulders look sort of thrown on. Oh, and look at that. OTK boots. Again.

I also love the collections Giambattista Valli turns out. Always ladylike, each piece plays with proportions in interesting ways. Lets talk about the cheetah patched fur style shall we? Actually, no. Let’s just look at it and pretend we own it…

And while books might not be the most useful gift a person can receive (in this day and age, that would be cash), they can provide endless inspiration, amusement and information–and also make awesome pieces for the home in general. No matter who you’re shopping for–dad who loves cars, mom who obsesses over jewelry, your fashionable bff– you’ll always be able to find the right book. If they’re not into reading? Enter, the photo books. And now for a few of my Assouline favorites that might inspire some good giving of your own:

Proust Questionnaire in orange leather, $295 – I was given this book about 5 years ago and it is one of my favorites. Leather bound and printed on beautiful vellum paper with silver foil edges. Marcel Proust’s Questionnaire is one of the best-known interview devices. Fun, intelligent, and concise, it reveals much of the personality of those questioned. Complete with blank questionnaires for guests to complete. This is really a great coffee table book–and makes a wonderful gift for any new homeowner Or renter. Or anyone who enjoys entertaining.

Maharajas’ Jewels, Deluxe Edition, $395. More than mere emblems of wealth and beauty, the jewels of the maharajas symbolized the power and vision of India’s royal dynasties. This limited edition, presented in a leopard-print hinged slipcase box, includes a print on fine vellum paper. A treat for any jewelry lover.

Van Cleef & Arpels, $18.95. With over a century of unyielding devotion to the highest standards of haute jewelry, Van Cleef & Arpels deftly combines glamour with nature and sophistication with simplicity—just like the women who choose it.

Survival Kit: Design, $150. Assouline has come up with some amazing book kits and I love the design one, which includes books on Bauhaus, Eames, Jean-Michel Frank and Le Corbusier.

The Impossible Collection, $550. Art advisers Philippe Segalot and Franck Giraud curate the ideal contemporary collection—in which money is no object and anything is possible—with this limited, hand bound edition showcasing the greatest works of art of the 20th century.

Art Game Book, $45. With games, puzzles, quotations, and commentaries, the Art Game Book is an original way to explore 20th-century painting, sculpture, architecture, design, video, installation, and photography. I bought a copy for one of my favorite ladies that loves both art and games.

So what I am I hoping for this year? Many more years of fun, fashion, being delighted by my son, hopefully getting married, and pushing myself even further in everything I do. Oh who am I kidding? Here are some other lovely little things I wouldn’t mind receiving as well…

I haven’t bought a fun pair of shoes in a very long time and I could use a new, killer pair (or 3). Some of my current faves? Well, my favorite, favorite, favorite is the Louis Vuitton Beauty Pump (they are just so me and a pair I know I’d wear for years–love the bow and overall silhouette), but I’d happily take Christian Louboutin’s Pigalle spiked ballerina flats or perhaps one of his chiffon evening peep-toe styles.

Like so many others, I’m a total Apple whore and while I’d love a new MacBook Air, I really need an iPad. Like, really, really badly.

I’d also really love one of the mid-sized satchels from Be Inthavong‘s new line. As much as I loathe black bags, I died for what I saw today and almost put in a personal order on the spot. You’ll be seeing the collection next February in fine, specialty retailers around the world.

And this isn’t the end of my birthday wishlist… I just need to go to bed now. Remember guys, I’m getting old!

As StyledOn’s Editorial Director, I was asked to take part in JNBY‘s vlogger styling series, (along with Kate and Morgan from Shopbop, Carolina Engman from The Fashion Squad, fashion’s girl about town Carol Han, the fabulous Bryan Boy, and Zandile Blay  from The Blay Report), where I helped DJ Mia Moretti get StyledOn in a few of the stellar pieces from the line’s new fall collection (not that Mia needs any help really, the girl is gorgeous and has great style!).

We played with everything from the totally different, but totally fantastic Model Harem Pants to an adorable little cardigan featuring neon elephants. Since filming the segment, I’ve fallen even harder for the collection, which couldn’t be more prefect for transitional dressing. Honestly, I’ve sort of been living in my super comfy gray asymmetrical jacket, new softy draped sweaters, and can’t wait for the puffy coats to arrive in-store.

During the chillest day this past New York Fashion Week (which really wasn’t that chilly at all), I wore my OTK boots for the first time this season as well as the newest cape in my ever-growing collection – a cheap and chic number I picked up at Zara for less than $200 back in August, which I’ve written about before. Funny thing was, that when I showed up for the Malandrino presentation at Lincoln Center that day, another girl (seen in the background of the above picture and who also happened to be a friend of a friend) was there wearing the same one. I laughed about it and told her that she had good taste. She seemed a bit embarrassed. And then Bill Cunningham (the New York Times’ endearing style photographer) showed up things went from a bit awkward to totally awesome.

Bill began taking some pictures of us and I was beyond thrilled–duh, he’s a New York legend. Then he asked me, “Is that cape Malandrino?” “No,” I told him, “it’s from Zara and was rather cheap. I think everyone should buy one this season!” He laughed and told me that it looked expensive. We exchanged a few more words (although I can’t remember them now–probably because I was too excited to be talking to him) before he moved on.

Anyway, this morning–well over a month past the last day of fashion week–I received an email from a friend with a subject line of “Styles section,” where she asked, “Do I see you in today’s Styles section hottie???” I squealed with delight and tried to watch the video on my iphone to no avail before leaving the apartment. At Starbucks I took a quick look at one of the copies, noticed that my eyes were closed in the picture, and stole the page out of the paper from one of my boyfriend’s neighbors who never seems to read his on the way back inside after walking hitting up the dog run.

And so even though my eyes are closed and my hair is pulled back into a less-than-chic bun and you can’t even tell that I’m wearing my killer boots, I love the picture and am thrilled to appear in the New York Times Sunday Style Section. I literally just the Bryant Park Hotel where I met with the lovely Heather Magidsohn and previewed next spring’s Kain Label and Strong & Dickerson collections. You probably don’t need me to tell you that Kain makes the best tees ever, but stay tuned for next season when you’ll be DYING for their effortlessly chic loose knit sweaters and sheer blouses.

But let’s talk about Strong & Dickerson. Will definitely be featuring it in a big way on StyledOn, but couldn’t resist showing you the above photo now. I tried on the Harper lambskin trench dress and fell in love. With an open back and cropped sleeves, the Harper is definitely a piece I’d wear all the time. Other styles I’m dreaming about? The Danika pants, Clarke denim zip up moto shirt, and the Gemma cape with leather trim. I’m dying for all of it and promise that you will be as well.

Yesterday, my Prada OTK boots came out to play. I first wore them this season during New York Fashion Week and have been dying to zip them back on since. My favorite Christmas gift of 2009, they go practically all the way up to my you-know-what, have a thick, yet feminine heel, and are simply divine. LOVE wearing them casually.

1. Leopard Flats – Sure, these have been around for a long time, but leopard is a huge trend this fall and if you don’t own a pair of spotted flats yet, you really ought to think about it. Wear them whenever you’d wear a neutral to kick up an outfit without looking like a crazy cat-lady. I love Lanvin’s but they cost well over $500 more than Ann Taylor’s pair, which are also awesome (and look better in-store than they do online, btw).
2. Camel Outwear – Duh. Chloé, Celine, and everywhere else from H&M to Hermes. And no, camel isn’t only for old ladies–are you kidding me?!
3. Pointy-Toed Pumps – Stella McCartney and Valentino (his studded styles) were my favorites this season. And when you’re buying pointy-toed pumps/slingbacks/etc. I would suggest purchasing half a size up and inserting foot petals to keep your toes from crunching forward. Trust me on this: I own about 6 pairs of pretty pointy pumps and actually wear them.
4. Lady-like Satchels – I DIE for Louis Vuitton’s selection, but Kate Spade’s is much more wallet friendly and still offers plenty to dream about.
5. Capes – I bought one from Zara at the end of August for under $200 and they’ve since added more color-ways. Go. Buy. One. Now.
6. Shearling – If you happen to love shearling this is the season to invest in a good piece. Honestly, shearling styles have never looked as chic (and that’s mainly due to Christopher Bailey’s collection for Burberry).

Sheer, nude, leopard, and with pops of orange, mint ice and yellow, Giambattista Valli Spring 2011 collection certainly rubbed me the right way the minute it hit the runway. I especially appreciate Valli’s interpretation of the 60s mod dress.

Simple, beautiful, clean, practical, smart. Chloé brought a whole lotta what I’m already loving for this fall (longer layers, simpler dressing) into next spring, but gave it a more polished edge. And the hair? Slicked back buns? Yay! That’s my go-to look.

Stella McCartney always gets it right, does she not? Her Spring 2011 collection is yet another clean one I’m dying to don. The third look above–the vest dress–has a completely open back that would make my boyfriend purrrr.

Another understated, elegant collection came from Akris, who also added a bit more color to the runway, as well as more lax, draped silhouettes. Not gonna lie, I’m sort of dying for all the looks shown above.
