Wow. Comme des Garçons for Louis Vuitton

Maybe I fall in love a little too easily (you might have noticed the excessive use of the word ‘love’ and the millions of little hearts on this blog), but I’ve fallen head over heels yet again…

Rei Kawakubo, founder and designer of Comme des Garçons, has reinvented Louis Vuitton and now I’m lovin’ LV - especially the bag shown here.

The exclusive collection features six one-off bags - all inspired by Rei Kawakubo’s early memories of the first Louis Vuitton store opening in Japan. She was fascinated by the image of French craftsmanship and art de vivre it projected. Using Louis Vuitton’s legendary monogram canvas, Kawakubo created two Party bags, customized the Papillon bag with animal charms, and added a rainbow of handles to the Mini HL. The collection also features two reedited iconic LV designs from the 70s – the Petit Marceau and the Sac 2 Poches.

The bags will only be available upon order starting September 4th, at the Louis Vuitton at Comme des Garçons store in Japan - no telephone or Internet orders will be taken. So, if you’ve just got to get hold of one of these little hotties, you’re going to have to pack your old bags first.
